COMPOSITION
Each enteric-coated tablet contains:
- Pantoprazole Sodium IP eq. to Pantoprazole 40 mg
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
- Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting H+/K+ ATPase in gastric parietal cells.
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
GERD, gastric and duodenal ulcers, reflux esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, dyspepsia.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or substituted benzimidazoles.
PRECAUTIONS
May increase risk of Clostridium difficile infection. Use caution in hepatic impairment.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
May reduce absorption of drugs requiring acidic pH (e.g., ketoconazole, atazanavir).
PREGNANCY & LACTATION
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised during lactation.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
One tablet once daily, preferably before breakfast.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Diarrhea, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and rash.
