COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains:
- Calcium Citrate equivalent to elemental calcium 250 mg
- Magnesium Hydroxide 100 mg
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate equivalent to elemental zinc 4 mg
- Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 200 IU
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
Calcium is essential for maintaining bone mass. Magnesium and zinc play crucial roles in bone mineralization, and Vitamin D3 enhances intestinal absorption of calcium. Together, they contribute to bone density maintenance and prevention of osteoporosis.
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Indicated in conditions like osteoporosis, osteomalacia, postmenopausal bone loss, and for fulfilling calcium/magnesium/zinc/Vitamin D3 deficiencies in adults and elderly.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, severe renal impairment, or nephrolithiasis.
PRECAUTIONS
Monitor serum calcium and renal function in patients on long-term therapy. Use cautiously in patients with sarcoidosis or renal insufficiency.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
May interact with tetracyclines, quinolones, bisphosphonates, levothyroxine, and corticosteroids. Spacing administration times is advised.
PREGNANCY & LACTATION
Considered safe in recommended doses. Calcium and vitamin D are crucial during pregnancy and lactation, but excessive supplementation should be avoided.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
One tablet daily or as directed by the physician. Preferably taken after meals to improve absorption and minimize gastric irritation.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
May cause gastrointestinal discomfort, constipation, or nausea. Rarely, hypercalcemia or allergic reactions.
