COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains:
- Fexofenadine Hydrochloride 120 mg.
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
Fexofenadine is a second-generation antihistamine that selectively antagonizes peripheral H1-receptors. It does not cross the blood-brain barrier, thus causing minimal sedation.
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose/palate/throat, and urticaria.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any component of the formulation.
PRECAUTIONS
Use with caution in patients with renal impairment. Avoid taking with fruit juices.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
May interact with antacids containing aluminum and magnesium. Avoid grapefruit, apple, and orange juices within 4 hours of taking.
PREGNANCY & LACTATION
Category C. Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised during breastfeeding.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
120 mg once daily before meals for allergic rhinitis.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Headache, drowsiness, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue.
