COMPOSITION
Desloratadine 5 mg + Montelukast 10 mg Tablet
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
Desloratadine is a selective H1-antihistamine with anti-allergic activity without sedation. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that reduces inflammation and bronchoconstriction.
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Used in allergic rhinitis, asthma, and chronic allergic conditions involving nasal congestion, sneezing, and itching.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to desloratadine, montelukast, or related compounds.
PRECAUTIONS
Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Montelukast may interact with phenobarbital and rifampicin, reducing its efficacy.
PREGNANCY & LACTATION
Should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed; caution advised during lactation.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
One tablet once daily, preferably in the evening, or as directed by the physician.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Headache, dizziness, dry mouth, abdominal pain, and rarely, neuropsychiatric effects.
